Chamber Seeks New Administrator
Jul 27, 2020 12:00AM ● By By Debra DingmanDIXON, CA (MPG) - For decades, the Dixon Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Dixon Business Association have acted as supporters of the business community but now, amid the pandemic shutdown of most businesses, both organizations closed offices or stopped having meetings and both organizations have lost significant leadership.
Tonyah Everhart, Chief Administrator for the Chamber since last summer after decade-long Administrator Carol Pruett, will serve until a replacement can be found, according to Chamber Board member Robin Tully of Tully Consulting Group. Last edition, the newspaper reported on the Downtown Dixon Business Association’s President had stepped down.
“We definitely are working hard as a Board and united team with Tonyah, our current Chief Administrator, in making positive changes within the Chamber for the benefit of members,” Tully said. “We have appreciated Tonyah's efforts and sincere goal to help the Chamber and its members. She will be continuing on until we can get a new person interviewed and selected.”
Everhart was a long-time Chamber Ambassador before being placed in position by the former Chief Administrator and plans to return to that Ambassador role for her husband’s company, Dixon Financial and Insurance Services. Chamber Ambassadors are volunteers who help with Chamber Mixers and events. Several unsuccessful attempts were made to reach the Chamber President Kay Cayler and also Everhart.
“The Chamber is also working hard behind the scenes during the COVID19 government mandated shutdowns to make changes that will benefit members,” said Tully. “We had numerous special meetings including an intensive workshop to identify what changes could be adopted to improve Chamber operations and member benefits.”
According to social media posts, the job description reads that they are focusing on “an outgoing bright individual.” They are also looking for a person with experience in office operations such as Quickbooks, email correspondence, invoicing, marketing and member outreach and also is proficient at organizing and running Chamber Events.
