2021 DWIC Scholarship Recipients

This has been a landmark year for the DWIC
DIXON, CA (MPG) - The Dixon Women’s Improvement Club is pleased to announce the names of the six outstanding Dixon High School seniors that were selected to receive scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to further their education and to help them pursue their career goals. This has been a landmark year for the DWIC by being able to provide twice as many scholarships as we have in past years, due to the generosity of our members.
The scholarship recipients will be recognized at an End of the Year Celebration that will be held on Wednesday morning from 10 am to Noon on June 16, at the Dixon Women’s Improvement Club Park.
The 2021 Dixon Women Improvement Club scholarship recipients are:
Lisette Abundez is interested in attending UC, Santa Barbara and earning a bachelor’s degree in Marketing that she hopes to use when working for the Walt Disney Company.
Elizbeth Granillo will be leaving Dixon to attend Modesto Junior College and transfer to Oklahoma State University where she will be preparing to become a teacher of Agricultural Science or a Veterinarian for large animals.
Megan Kett has set her sights on attending Oklahoma State University or UC Davis to become a Veterinarian.
Ana Miranda enjoys science and has been accepted at UC Davis, San Diego, and Berkeley as well as Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. She will pursue a career in medicine in the specific field of Anesthesiology.
Erica Munoz is leaving for San Diego to attend either San Diego State University or UC San Diego. She will be studying biology to fulfill pre-requisites for medical school. She plans to return to Dixon or the nearby area as a Pediatrician.
Jadelyn Young has selected to attend California State University, Sacramento this fall and will study Nursing. She plans to become a Pediatric Nurse at a children’s hospital.
