Finding Common Ground
Sustainable Solano will host a screening of “Common Ground,” the highly anticipated sequel to “Kiss the Ground,” winner of 42 film awards including Best Documentary in the 2020 Los Angeles Film and Script Festival, and Best Interactive Documentary in the 2020 Lonely Wolf International Film Festival. In 2022, the filmmakers responsible for “Kiss the Ground,” worked alongside The Regenerate America Coalition to develop policies with Congress that will support farmers and ranchers across the country. This inspired the United States Department of Agriculture to put $20 billion toward conservation projects focused on soil health.
Partnering with Solano Local Food System Alliance, the film will be followed by a discussion on the effects of soil health on the planet. See “Common Ground” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Journey Downtown, 308 Main St., Vacaville. For more information, visit www.journeydowntownvenue.com/events, or (707) 474-9657.
