Teen DIY Ornament Making

Dixon Library at 230 N. First St. is hosting an after-school holiday event from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 13. The tween and teen-focused event, open to children aged 10 to 18, will get into the holiday spirit by making and decorating wooden ornaments for Christmas. Joy(stick) to the World

Joystick Gaming Lounge, 420 Gateway Dr. Suite C, is hosting a Santa meet and greet from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 14. Families can get free pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy a plethora of video games and board games and even stock up on gift cards for the holiday season. Breakfast with Santa

Davis Odd Fellows Lodge, 415 Second St., Davis, is sponsoring its 17th Annual Breakfast with Santa event at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Dec. 14. Breakfast will be served buffet style while children get to meet Santa, get a goodie bag and have their picture taken by a professional photographer, although parents are encouraged to bring their cameras as well. Tickets are available for $12.50 per child under 12, and $17 per person over 12. Seating is limited, so purchase your tickets today to secure your spot. Haunting Holiday Bento Experience

Every Baking Moment, 143 N. First St., is hosting a “Nightmare Before Christmas” themed baking class from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 14. The class will teach patrons how to fill and frost 5 cakes and 5 cupcakes, roll, cut, and mold fondant toppers and paint with edible color. The Wreath Project

The Wreath Project, in collaboration with RememberAVet.net, is securing donations for holiday boughs; each will go to a grave site at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, ensuring each grave is honored and recognized during this festive time. So far, they have maintained 100% coverage every year since 2006, making sure each headstone has an accompanying holiday bough; this year, they will need 35,000 boughs purchased to reach their goal. Boughs cost $7; if you would like to volunteer your time, the public is invited to help place the boughs starting at 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 14, rain or shine. Holiday Hearts

Dixon Dance Studio, 1910 N. Lincoln St., is hosting its 11th Annual Winter Showcase at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 14, and 2 p.m. Dec. 15. The show, titled Holiday Hearts, features performances from all of the school's dancers, representing everything from high-energy jazz to beautiful ballet, tap, acro and much more. Christmas Jug Band

Winters Opera House, 13 Main St., Winters, is hosting a festive night of music and fun from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 15. The Christmas Jug Band, known as “the kings of 100% acoustic folk-skiffle-swing holiday highjinks,” are performing live, bringing their unique blend of holiday tunes and jug band music to the masses. VFW Upcoming Meeting

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8151, will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 18. Meetings are held every third Wednesday at The Olde Vets Hall, 231 N First St. Official business meetings start a 7 p.m., but the hall opens for set-up and socializing at 6 p.m.; socializing will continue after the business portion of the meeting. Carols in the Tunnel

A special Christmas caroling event is on offer at 7 p.m. Dec. 20, near the Dixon Chamber of Commerce, 220 N. First St. Those interested will gather in the B Street Underpass tunnel to spend time as a community singing carols and spreading cheer. Santa’s Mailbox

Dixon’s North Pole, located in a neighborhood west of Evans Road and North of A Street, is gearing up for Christmas day with Santa’s Mailbox. The mailbox, located at 2035 Rehrmann Dr., is available until Dec. 20. Santa encourages parents to make sure their children add return addresses to their letters so Santa can write back.
