DIXON, CA (MPG) - Get ready for a theatrical experience like no other. Dixon Community Theater will present “Hamlet: Paranormal Activity,” a bold and innovative modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy. This West Coast premiere takes the timeless tale of betrayal, revenge and madness and gives it an eerie paranormal twist that’s sure to leave audiences spellbound.
Adapted into contemporary language, this fresh retelling makes Hamlet accessible to all, while weaving in modern music to resonate with today’s world. Prepare to be transported to the shadowy corridors of Elsinore Castle, where ghostly apparitions, chilling soundscapes and haunting visuals blur the line between the living and the dead.
The cast includes David Cripe, Olivia Smith, Daniel Rings, Yuliana Vasilenko, Joshua Benson, Chris Tan, Jennifer Rutherford, Stacy Allison, David Atkinson, Leanne Vroom and Sarah Walter.
“This adaptation breathes fresh life into a classic story,” said director Abel Cornejo. “It’s Shakespeare for the modern age: intense, immersive and unforgettable.”
Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the Bard or new to his work, “Hamlet: Paranormal Activity” offers Shakespeare reimagined, blending suspense, drama and the supernatural into an electrifying theatrical experience.
Performances are Friday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 1 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 2 at 2 p.m. at the Dixon Performing Arts Center, 555 College Way, Dixon.
