DIXON, CA (MPG) - Angela Meisenheimer of Remark International Realty and the Downtown Dixon Business Association was awarded Citizen of the Year at Celebrate Dixon on March 8.
Her contributions to the community and culture of Dixon have earned her this crowning achievement.
Meisenheimer moved to Dixon in 1995 with her husband, James, and their three children, Tyler, Dillon, and Blake. She immediately became interested in supporting her children’s athletic endeavors, becoming a board member for Dixon Youth Football and Dixon Little League and the president of the Parent Association.
Eventually, Meisenheimer joined the Downtown Dixon Business Association as a secretary, where she utilized her talents to support local businesses. Her support was pivotal in establishing the first Dixon Farmers’ Market and Block Party events in 2000. Both events were successful in empowering a sense of community while building relationships with first responders.
Meisenheimer’s hard work earned her a directorial role on the Downtown Dixon Business Association Board, putting her in a position to have an even greater effect on the community.
As a Downtown Dixon Business Association Board member, Meisenheimer played a significant role in the success of town traditions such as the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival, the Wine and Art Stroll and the previously mentioned Farmers’ Market.

Ever the public servant, Meisenheimer donates much of her time volunteering at local events, including Music and Movies in the Park, Grillin’ and Chillin’ and the Halloween Hunt, among many others.
Regarding the Christmas Tree Lighting specifically, Meisenheimer is a 28-year volunteer for the event. She works directly with participating nonprofit organizations, managing entertainment groups, decorating downtown for Christmas vendors, and acquiring sound systems, maps, social media and music to support the festive atmosphere.
Meisenheimer’s drive to uplift Dixon and its citizens comes from a love of the town and its history. Her goal, to celebrate Dixon’s past, present and future, is observable through her efforts.
Meisenheimer has been known to make donations for plaques and supports the designation of certain buildings and areas as historic landmarks. She is currently working with a committee to develop a walking tour to each of these landmarks, further reinforcing their importance.
Because of Meisenheimer’s diligence, commitment and passion, she is Dixon’s 62nd annual Citizen of the Year.
