DIXON, CA (MPG) - Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center is having a fundraiser from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 31 at Bud’s Pub & Grill, 100 S. First St. in Dixon.
Funds raised will help support the care of Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center’s team of therapy horses, including veterinary and farrier care, equipment and nutritional supplements.
Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization for special-needs children and adult riders living in Solano, Napa, and Yolo counties.
The program provides an opportunity to improve their quality of life by interacting physically, intellectually and emotionally while riding horses in controlled, therapeutic sessions. Donations and fundraising efforts are needed to cover the costs of the riding sessions and horse care.
This is a major fundraising event, featuring a full dinner offering choice of main course (prime rib, chicken, pasta, tri tip, salmon and chicken strips with fries), salad, roasted potatoes, bread and a non-alcoholic beverage. Dinners are also available for takeout.
There will be a variety of raffle prizes, including gift baskets, Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center hats, note cards and pictures created by rider Simon Eisenberg and a handmade quilt donated by Karen Donahue.
Tickets are $50 per person (which does not include a tip), and are available at the Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center barn, located at Whispering Winds Ranch, 5949 Silveyville Road, or by calling Margaret Renn at 707-372-7284.
Those who cannot attend can still support Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center by sending a check to Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center, P.O. Box 506, Vacaville, CA or by donating online at horseplayriding.org.
