Eagle Scout Candidate Cameron Kersey Needs Your Help for Eagle Project

For more than one hundred years, the Boys Scouts of America has advocated principles of honorable living; being trustworthy; doing your best; being hard-working; courteous; kind; helpful; religious; serving others; and fulfilling your duty to God, family and country.
Along the vigorous path Scouts spend years and earn awards and merit badges, the highest rank of which is the coveted Eagle Scout award. Some more famous Eagle Scouts are: First man on the moon Neil Armstrong, Willie Banks – Olympic & world record holding track star, 38th US President Gerald Ford, Film Director/Producer Steven Spielberg, and J. Willard Marriott, Jr., President, Marriott Corporation, to just name a few.
Of all those who ever joined the Boy Scouts of America, only four percent are granted this rank after a lengthy review process. The requirements necessary to achieve this rank take years to fulfill. Over the years, Dixon has produced a several Eagle Scouts in her two troops 261 and 152 – and is about to again.
Dixon’s Cameron Kersey, a junior at Dixon High School, is getting close to his final steps to become an Eagle Scout. The last major requirement is to plan, direct and supervise volunteers in a meaningful community service project here in Dixon. He and a group of all volunteers are fundraising for and will purchase and then install a beautiful new permanent concrete park bench and corresponding concrete base at the northern end of Dixon’s Northwest Park. But he needs your help!
He and his team of volunteers are asking for donations to help cover the costs. All labor is volunteer. To date, He has received some donations, but still needs more.
Cameron and several Dixon area Boy Scouts will be collecting other donations until he can meet his goal and fully fund the community service project. Together we can accomplish great things. Can we count on you, your family or business for a donation?
A special thank you for the generous donations of the Dixon Lions Club, the Dixon Rotary Club, and Aeration & Dethatching by Dreamscapes.
If you would like to help, please mail a donation – in any amount – to: Cameron Kersey, Eagle Service Project, at PO Box 1085, Dixon, CA 95620.
If you have any questions, please call his father Michael at (707) 689-6442. Thank you for your support.
