Dixon Kiwanis Lines Up Live Music for Tree Festival

The 10th Anniversary of the Kiwanis Festival of Trees will be hosted on Saturday and Sunday, December 1 & 2, and features live entertainment amidst beautifully decorated Christmas trees. It will be held at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 1305 North First Street, across from DuPratt Ford.
The event opens at 2 pm on Saturday and kicks off with the Santa-garbed young people from the Dixon Dance Studio who will perform at 2:30 to a variety of holiday songs.
Next up at 3:30 pm will be the full ensemble of the CA Jacobs Middle School Band under the direction of Steve Russo. Dixon Music Studio Director Jamee Wall will have students sing in groups and solo starting at 5 pm.
That evening, sweet Christmas melodies will come from local favorites Suzanne Lorente at 6 pm and then, Carol Pruett of Dixon’s Chamber of Commerce will sing on Saturday at 7 pm. The event closes at 9 pm Saturday evening but reopens on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 10 am.
On Sunday, Lorente will be first to entertain with Jamee Wall on keyboard following. The Dixon High School Key Club Choir will enjoy entertaining in between with lead from Lorente on her guitar.
Then, at 2 pm, the Bell Choir from the Dixon Bell Choir led by Erin Brothers will delight guests. There will also be more singers from Dixon Music Studio and Key Club as well as singing by City Councilman Devon Minnema.
Guests are invited to light refreshments at the Dessert Social on Sunday at 5 pm thanks to wonderful volunteer cookie contributors that help make this unique Dixon tradition a hometown favorite.
