Lambtown Festival Cook-Off Has Over $1,000 in Awards

The 32nd Annual Dixon Lambtown Festival will be Saturday and Sunday, October 6 & 7 at the May Fair grounds. Gates open at 9 am both days. There is still time to enter the Lamb Cook-Off – First Prize is $500; Second is $300; Third $200 and Forth $100.
The Lamb Cook-Off this year has been expanded beyond just BBQ. Any cooking technique is allowed. The entries must be entirely prepared at the Cook-off. There will be a preparation tent which complies with health regulations available to all teams. There will also be electricity provided.
The major sponsor, Superior Farms, has offered to provide the ground lamb – which is this year’s featured cut – to the contestants. Contestants may use any other ingredients, including other meats, as long as ground lamb is part of the recipe.

Non-Profits Free Booths
Also there is still time for non-profits to have FREE promotional booth. Applications also on the website.
Volunteers Needed
Lambtown is asking for volunteers to help with set-up on Friday, October 5 and Saturday morning October 6; tear-down on Sunday early evening on October 7 and Monday morning October 8. Help is also needed throughout the two day festival – including at the Sheep Show, Sheep Shearing Demonstrations; information and souvenirs booth and other tasks.
